Search to Involve Pilipino Americans (SIPA) — a longstanding Filipino American nonprofit dedicated to improving the quality of life for Filipino Americans in Historic Filipinotown (HiFi) and beyond through ongoing youth programs, mental health education, affordable housing, and more — is centering teens and their holiday wish lists in an annual toy giveaway on Sunday, December 10th from 10am-3pm at HiFi collective.

Search to Involve Pilipino Americans (SIPA), now in our 51st year, celebrated the 2023 Barangay Awards & Gala on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at the LINE Hotel. The event was a celebration of the community with this year’s honorees - California Attorney General Rob Bonta, Pastor Danny Cortez (Long Beach Christian Fellowship) renowned Chef Vallerie Castillo-Archer (Philippine Airlines), and DJ E-Man (Power 106, KDAY).

The Homes Within Reach Awards are part of Southern California Association of Non-Profit Housing’s (SCANPH) annual Conference and reflects their efforts to recognize and honor excellence in the affordable housing industry.

Los Angeles, CA, September 13, 2023 - Search to Involve Pilipino Americans (SIPA), now in their 51st year, will be hosting the 2023 Barangay Awards & Gala on Saturday, September 30 at the LINE Hotel (3515 Wilshire Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90005), from 6pm-10pm. Presented by Philippine Airlines, this evening honors the community leaders and organizations that have worked tirelessly in alignment with SIPA’s mission of enriching and empowering the lives of Filipino Americans.
New Cultural Landmark Opens in Historic Filipinotown
The new SIPA offices, meeting rooms, community kitchen, and event space are ready to open their doors with a grand opening celebration marking the beginning of the newest chapter in their 50 year journey to serve the people of Los Angeles. The celebration will take place on Friday, June 9, from 3-7 pm; the program includes blessing, remarks, music, open house, light food and refreshments.
