2023 Gala and Barangay Awards Highlights
Search to Involve Pilipino Americans (SIPA), now in our 51st year, celebrated the 2023 Barangay Awards & Gala on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at the LINE Hotel. The event was a celebration of the community with this year’s honorees - California Attorney General Rob Bonta, Pastor Danny Cortez (Long Beach Christian Fellowship) renowned Chef Vallerie Castillo-Archer (Philippine Airlines), and DJ E-Man (Power 106, KDAY). Philippine Airlines was the presenting sponsor.

The Gala was hosted hosted by Grammy award winning artist Tia Carrere, with singer Kiana V and DJ Virman providing entertainment. Cocktails from Don Papa Rum and Sunstone Winery, VIP desserts provided by Sampa and Wanderlust Creamery for the after party. Guests wore beautiful gowns and barongs from Vinta Gallery, with photo moments provided by The Lounge booth and Under New Mgmt.
SIPA also premiered a new video showing the history of the organization, and honored board members that were exiting this year. Thank you to Edward Malicdem, Rachel Buenviaje, Rita Garcia Acuña, Jessica del Mundo for their guidance, support and dedication to SIPA’s growth and success these past few years.
