Community Care For Angelenos

We’re coming together as a community in a time of crisis, and SIPA is here with resources, health and wellness services, and holding space for healing. The spirit of kapwa (interconnectedness) is what will get us through.

Since the devastating fires blazed across Los Angeles, SIPA has served 755 individuals affected by the fires. We are so grateful to our staff, partners, volunteers, donors, and community for being there for each other. Together we:

• Provided PPE, hygiene kits, groceries and other essential items to clients and residents of SIPA’s affordable housing communities,

• Supported community members with crisis response counseling and support groups,

• Partnered with organizations including @swirlsclub , @whimsy.pasadena , and @lavcoutreach to provide clothes and necessities to impacted communities,

• Collected donations to be distributed to communities throughout Los Angeles County, directly to those impacted,

• Shared accurate and relevant resources and navigated community members to appropriate agencies for support and information,

• Established a Crisis Relief Fund to purchase hard to procure items,

We will continue to work in coalition with advocacy organizations on promoting just and equitable recovery that centers those most vulnerable. We do this work no matter the season, no matter the crisis because we fully believe in community care.

Thank you to the following businesses, organizations, city officials, and all volunteers, donors and supporters who ensured that SIPA's fire response efforts were a success.
