Mag-usap tayo or "Let's talk" about mental health. This once-a-month psychoeducational series will explore mental health disorders and its prevalence in the Filipinx/a/o-American community. Topics include stigma, depression, anxiety, substance use, grief and loss, and the elderly. Each session will cover the importance of wellness and invites participants to practice self-care activities. This session is for those who identify as Filipinx/a/o, but all are welcome to attend.
Financial self-care is any individual task that helps us move toward financial wellness. In the process of practicing financial self-care, it's not uncommon for financial fear, shame, or worry to creep in. The personal finance industry primarily focuses on the "how to" of money, which doesn't help with the emotional side. On top of that, this industry has been slow to change its education and messaging and rarely offers understanding or humility to BIPOC communities. In this Mag-Usap Monday workshop, Lindsay will help the audience understand financial wellness, ways to identify financial fears that stem from white-washed financial education and learn financial self-care practices.
